Thank you for this post. I don't really believe in institutional racism, I just don't see it. But rather than be an asshole or make a case for something that can't have a case made for it, you provided a really interesting analysis. Gives me something to think about and I certainly understand where you're coming from here.

My one thought on it, and maybe you have an opinion regarding it- It seems like when people and businesses try to invest in these communities, they are taken to task for gentrification. And it also seems like when black businesses do open in black communities, often using minority-only loans and grants, the neighbors still go elsewhere to shop and eat... So, I like what you say, but then I just don't really see it supported by action.
