The cyclops dock. It's a simple theme with a couple ways of doing it.

The basic principle is to build something that is easy as hell to drive up to from the bridge (sans cameras) and nail the placement the first time every time.

Once 'docked' you exit through the dive chamber in the front and and turn to get into the cyclops -- you don't have to swim. When exiting the base, you click to exit the hatch and click to enter the cyclops, no swimming needed.

There's a couple variations on how to handle that since you do a 180 exiting the cyclops (which I hate but it is what it is) but the docking framework itself is basically the same.

The upper dock is your aim point and that is why there is glass on the two ends of the upper fork. They are your parking beacons. I put a search light, flood light, or other light source on the top as a center aiming point by habit as some places are bloody dark and the floods from the cyclops aren't too good for this kind of docking.

The first design is a center-entry configuration. This one is part of the embarkation hub I mentioned earlier.
