[NO SPOILERS] The best way to watch GOT

Some people are watching it for the first time. They can now binge the show without waiting years in between seasons AND are anticipating the anti-climatic fandom ending final season all the way through. They are primed for disappointment, rather than excited for a phenomenal conclusion. I hated season 8 as much as most people, but we went into it thinking it was going to be the greatest thing ever and got disappointed. New fans think they are about to experience something so beyond horrible because of our hyperbole that some end up pleasantly surprised and just find the ending “okay but a little rushed”.

I personally can’t stand D&D for their atrocious writing at the end, but I also can’t hate on the entire show with hundreds of cast and crew after putting their blood sweat and tears into the project for nearly a decade. Seasons 1-6 to me still makes for the greatest TV show ever made. Amazing acting, characters, plot, setting, makeup, costumes, cinematography, special effects, and last but certainly not least the incredible music composed by Ramin Djawadi.

Game of Thrones doesn’t deserve to be forgotten just because the last 10% of the show was written by a couple of heartless hacks. It should be studied by anyone interested in filmmaking for decades to come. Many lessons can be learned on what to do, and more importantly what NOT to do when taking on a project of this magnitude.
