(No Spoilers) Open Letter to the Mods

Discussing leaked episodes in itself may not be piracy, but it absolutely encourages piracy. I don't see how those begging for a discussion of leaked episodes can't understand this.

I am completely opposed to this idea. Personally, I feel that anyone who dares venture on to a reddit discussion that has not caught up on the books or show is making their own choice to potentially subject themselves to spoilers. Spoilers may be tagged, but there is always the risk of seeing something unintended. Those who are completely "caught up" get the luxury of being able to browse freely without concern of accidental spoilers. As someone who has always been caught up as much as I am legally allowed (read the books first, pay for an HBO subscription to see each new episode on Sunday, and if I miss it I will avoid reddit) I should not have to worry about spoilers or keep my eyes out for spoiler tags. It's not even a matter to me of whether it's right or wrong, but technically I "follow the rules" and should not have to be careful about my reddit use because of those who do not. I do not deserve to suddenly be considered an Unsullied!

I know I am capable of downloading the leaked episodes and have chosen not to. I'm as big of a ASoIaF/GoT nerd as there is. But that's exactly why I can wait until they're supposed to be seen. I enjoy having the week between episodes to build anticipation. It's a weekly Sunday event with friends to watch and it wouldn't be nearly as much fun if I'd already watched the episode. But I also don't want to watch several and then have to wait a month for another new episode instead of a week.

I also enjoy discussing the episodes when they're intended to be discussed by everyone else: When the vast majority of viewers have seen it, not the few who have chosen to pirate it. Thanks forum mods.
