No way the showrunners did not want us to HATE Lori

I'm not saying we as viewers need to agree with all the actions that the characters take but we at least need to understand them a little. I don't like that Shane forcibly opened the barn doors and traumatized Hershel's family, but I get why he did it.

Lori's actions keep begging explanations. The biggest one by far is her randomly going after the two best scouters of the whole group to "bring them back" when the whole reason they left was to find Hershel and return anyway. She also, in the next episode, picks on Andrea for not doing her "womanly chores". That was fundamentally wrong.

I mention that Andrea is better looking (and she is) because Lori is painted as so alluring that both leading men (Shane was a quasi-leading man before he became villain) are completely in love with her. I get that inter-personal attraction is not dependent on looks alone, but to the viewer, especially keeping in mind Lori is much more annoying than Andrea, it just comes across as bizarre. It's a bit like if the actor who played Merle became Rick and the actor who played Rick became Merle.
