No welcome letter or contact with teacher

Our entire district had high enrollment numbers through all grades (we are open enrollment). They had to hire teachers days before school started because of numbers. Our lists did not come out until after they were hired as they did not want to assign a teacher, then change.

Many students who enrolled later in August or the week of were added after letters were sent to families. We also had a LOT of letters returned from the post office for one reason or another.

Your teacher may not have had your student assigned to their class until after they sent letters (or the letter could have been returned via post office). If they are half day K your teacher probably has over 40+ students and families.

If your student has started I would send a note in their folder/with them saying you would like the beginning of the school year info. It never hurts to ask, teachers will happily send info if you just ask.
