Nobody Is Good At Everything...

The answer to the question told Tokuji that she was attempting to control the situation. However her cold stare indicated she had an instant dislike of Tokuji. That wasn't surprising however, such a question would likely do that to anyone. But Izumi remained focused where the other Shiniganimi were standing about like dawdling idiots. What was interesting though was that she didn't hide her obvious dislike. She wasn't embarrassed nor was she shocked but her tone of voice portrayed a position of superiority. Despite this she seemed to keep a reasonably level head.

It was her last question, or more accurately, demand, that proved she was likely quite bossy. Certainly as a leader; going from this situation alone, Tokuji could tell she would be adequate. Control of the event was paramount. But Tokuji wasn't interested in her qualities as a leader. He was more curious as to what lay underneath. From her last speech she was obviously a good liar; even if she didn't know it. Tokuji just wanted to find what personality she was covering up.

"Me? I'm just a detestable jerk", replied Tokuji. "The pay's not great, but it more than makes up for it with the job satisfaction".

He wasn't really here to speak about himself. Nor did he particularly want to. The more he remained a mystery the better. This was a Mimura after all. They were a powerful family. Though Tokuji didn't feel threatened, it was probably best to keep some anonymity. They could probably ruin him otherwise. Tokuji was banking on the fact that he would simply not be significant enough to warrant this kind of wrath from them. And even if he was, hopefully they would never admit to an unknown peasant such as him causing a ruckus anyway.

"But who cares about me? I'm boring. I came here to talk about you. It seems odd to me that someone of your stature would fund into a support squad. Don't tell me you don't want the glory of 'leading the charge'. Besides you're the versatile squad, the base and key role for forming a team. The specialists should be supporting you."

His comment would hopefully tell him about Izumi's ambitiousness, and perhaps lead to some more truths.
