Non-Americans bashing America and its citizens is one of the most annoying and un-acknowledged circlejerks on the internet.

I'm from the UK and I feel like a lot of it comes from here, I have never understood it or where on earth it even comes from. I have always loved America and so do my friends but I have also met someone who said things like "Americans are so stupid" I then said "No they aren't most Americans are pretty smart" He then responds with "No, ALL Americans are stupid" I really have no idea how this opinion even starts to develop.
