Non-Americans of reddit, what is your genuine reaction to what’s going on in America right now?

It's really sad and scary to see what's happened / happening. It seems to me that America is broken beyond repair. The divide is too big now and it seems there is no issue that won't become a political fight. You'd think a worldwide pandemic would have brought people together to overcome it but it's made the division worse.

The republican party was already abhorrent with their corruption, warmongering, and treatment of the poor, native Americans, minorities, lgbt, the environment, etc.. but now the GOP has been taken over by Russia, white supremacists and insane conspiracy freaks like Qanon. The GOP is now the GQP and the sane non-corrupt republicans can't take the party back from the monster they've created. And that insanity and evil is starting to infect other countries.

And it's not just the right wing that's fucked. The left had 2 chances to nominate someone who was trying to start a revolution for the common American against the rule of rich white power, someone who was trying to give America healthcare, education, save the environment, etc. and twice they chose a center-right nominee instead. Someone who has no plans for universal healthcare, education, economic and environmental reform, drug war / prison reform, etc. They nominated someone who wants to "reach across the aisle" and work with the same republicans who have let a deranged idiot run wild committing treason.

And now with a chance to vote out an incredibly stupid, evil and corrupt treasonous white supremacist potus and begin to save what's left of America, it will be the people who don't vote who will make the difference. People who are too dumb and lazy to get out and vote, young people who never vote, people who think their vote doesn't matter, people who will vote for a 3rd party nominee or write in someone else.
