Non-Americans: What traditionally American food (not including branded products like Twinkies) have you tried and liked? What have you hated?

I don't know if we're the most diverse place in the world, but I do think that (despite our MANY problems) we have or are doing well at living together in relative cohesion. There is still problems with racism, which reddit loves to point out, but overall it's got a lot better and most people do their best to see others as American first and forget about the rest. I was having a conversation with my boss (from El Salvador) and my coworker (ethnically Korean) and my other coworker (ethnically Mexican) and we were talking about a bunch of ethnic and non-ethnic related topics a few days ago and there was never any tension or anything bad in the conversation. I will say that it may be similar in other parts of the world because those people aren't as general "wound-up" about so-called "race relations" as many Americans are, but none of these individuals are either so there isn't any tension. All we care about is doing our jobs and trying to have a laugh when we can.
