Non-Catholic Christians who claim there is sufficient evidence to believe in the resurrection ought to believe in the Miracle of the Sun at Fatima

I mean, is it irrational to think the gospel authors might have included the elements of doubt to make the story seem more realistic?

This is the sort of modern reading into the text that J.D Atkins writes about in his 2019 book published at Mohr Siebeck. Early Christians didn't think doubt and disbelief entailed inquisitive minds and skeptical thinking, they thought of doubt and disbelief as slow minded, stubborn, satanic sin, something worthy of divine wrath (Rom 1:18-24). How does this make the story more realistic? Even the Gospel authors thought this.

The doubt motif simply prevents the resurrection narratives from being wholly legendary. They have at least some history in them.
