Hiya! I'm Indian and I write. I have a poetry page on Instagram and it's okay-okay hehe. Here's one of my short pieces! It's not the best of my work but I like it haha. Lmk how you feel about it.

they say when a person dies,

they cease to exist in one place,

and start existing everywhere.

in the trees,

the garden on the roof where all the plants are,

the wind,

the ocean and its tides that never stop kissing the shoreline,

everywhere.

on the days when it rains and

missing you pours out of my eyes like the water dripping down outside,

I like to get down on my knees,

with the mud,

and like to imagine it's you and I, together again,

staring at /the sky/ that's crying hot, fat tears.

but it doesn't really feel the same,

and it's only mud that surrounds me.

you are vanishing, disappearing,

a figment of my imagination,

and I can't even remember what you used to look like anymore.

I really, really want to remember, I promise,

I just

/can't/

the other day when the sun was up bright,

I felt like cursing the universe.

what right did the sun have, to be happy and bright every. single. day,

when you weren't here with me?

they say when a person dies,

they cease to exist in one place,

and start existing everywhere.

the other day when the sun was up bright,

I screamed out your name and asked it what

right it had to be happy and bright when you

weren't there with me,

it smiled and said you were.

where?

I asked, and it said

everywhere

everywhere

everywhere
