Non US/UK service personnel experience of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars

.>Did their countries award any Victoria Cross/Medal of Honor-esque to their soldiers? What was the media or public perception of their soldiers serving in the warzones? Did attitudes/opinions change over the course of the mission?

Well I can tell you that in El Salvador and the Dominican Republic the government didn't properly recognize their soldiers and skimped on monetary compensation for injuries. The media of both countries was divided as usual. Conservative media wanted to pushed the typical nationalistic rhetoric and liberal media drove the typical "puppeteers for the imperialists" narrative. As time went on anti-american and anti-government sentiment grew due to stories of injured/dead soldiers and their families being fucked over. Lots of protests happened. Some universities actually got shut down due to riots. Mostly in El Salvador. Dominicans were more indifferent about the whole thing. They hardly acknowledged their soldiers sacrifice. They don't see them any differently than cops or security guards.
