None of us in this subreddit can decide who the next nation's girl group will be

I really really feel that youre overestimating teenage majority on a kpop groups success

Especially for a country like Korea whos underage and adolecent population is growing smaller and smaller each year to have any major influence on what the masses are actually listening to

Especially this part

"That said, teenagers are the primary target for sales and popularity because albums are cheap and they have the time & energy to do so."

yeah no, sales average points to adults being the major players on collecting albums nowadays

Youre not going to see a 16 year old with no income bulk buy 20 albums for a chance of a raffle ticket for a fanmeet and spending hundreds in concert tickets unless said 16 year old parents are rich as hell and that population of rich teens isnt that high

Maybe in the past but groups lile SNSD had adult fans too, especially males during their height

BTS has a fandom that is currently majority adults, even when they were starting out, many of their earlier fans lean more towards young adults that were around the hyung line age or older with their own income and family

Again, youre not going to see mostly teens spending thousands on concerts or album/merch collecting compare to adults

And this????

"These people are busy grinding with work, and not promoting them in their free time (if you are, my bad but please, reconsider your priorities)"

My dude, loads of adults arent working 24/7, we do have free time AFTER WORK

And have disposible income to spend thousands on merch collecting

I know I spend well over thousands in just 2 years of album collecting than any average teen kpop fan would in their entire teen years of being a kpop fan

And thats not including the spending on extra merch, concerts and traveling to said concert is not feesable by a mostly teen fandom

Thats not comparible to how groups like the Beatles or One Direction grew in popularity by an early teen fandom when times were different back then during their peaks(yes even when One Direction and JB teen years, the music industry was highly different back then, the streaming era has taken full force and physical albums were becoming obsolete, so teens spending money buying concert tickets than they would albums compare to now with kpop groups)

compare to BTS's current popularity that was hardcarried by the adult side of the fandom, especially major bts fan accounts from update accounts, translators and chart data accounts are main by adult fans and have been since they were created and adult fans being the major playing buying their albums in bilks while it was expensive for international fans to buy one album
