i’m taking the advice of everyone in the thread and cutting contact with him, but do want to specify that i don’t think the contact i’ve had with him prior to these past four days has been strange. plenty of my classmates also text their clients and have gotten references and recommendation letters from them. here’s a copy+paste from my original job offer from my school advisor: “some clients may want to be friends as well, which may include invitations to consume food or alcohol or generally spend time together; know where you stand on this.” i was obviously alright with it in the past and am now stepping back. i think everything will be okay now that i’ve cut off contact but do at least want to clarify that, at least by the system my university went by, our relationship was not that strange before these past few days.
