We do not advertise cars to negotiate prices, we advertise cars to sell cars

A new deal showed up last night. I went in at opening this morning. They confirmed the car's existence, but called the price an error they couldn't honor. I mentioned that this has been happening for weeks, they said they know but it's a software thing.

I was perfectly pleasant and didn't argue. I realize it isn't the sales guy doing anything wrong. So I said thank you and left...then filed a report with the state attorney general as this reeks of a "too convenient" tech issue. They keep just "accidentally" and knowingly putting prices off by $8500 on the front page of their website.

I'm not sure of the precise false advertising laws, so maybe they've done nothing wrong. But it seems like the sort of thing an honest business would fix.
