Not even a torch hollow at least...

I wouldn't really believe to fans on a forum, and I prefer the word from the creators. But dark souls is cryptic so you can view it as you like, I don't judge you. However I would like to explain my point.

"Hollow" is different from "hollow". Gwyn can be called an hollow shell, an empty husk, but he can't be Hollow.

When he linked the flame he had purpose, but he couldn't die. The only beings that after death return to life are the undead (humans) not already hollow.

Hollow is a state of the Undeads, created by the dark soul. Every human have a part of the dark soul, and so the power to return to life. This is the power that Gwyn feared, so he created the ringed city, a beautiful prison at the end of the world to keep the humans (pygmy at that time, the progenitors of nowadays humans) inprisoned forever. But as we know some escaped and created the various kingdoms like astora, vinheim ecc...

The effect that fromsoftware wanted to creat with gywn's bossfight is that even tho he was a god, the most distant thing from us humans, he still lost his mind. He wasn't Hollow, but the effect is basically the same. He lost his mind and became skeleton-like.

Vendrick in Dark souls 2 was a real Hollow (and to me he does better on some points then gwyn). The ashen ones in DS3 are undead (that is why we can start the game even tho we TRIED to link the flame failing). Aldritch iirc can be undead because before being a slime was a human (don't quote me on this). Farron undead legion is self-explaining, and yohrm was a giant, not a god (even tho god is not really the right name for the "from the dark they came"). Lothric is a god, being son of Gwynevere and Oceiros, but never become anything.

So this is my point, you can disagree and that is okay, I don't want to change your view of the game.
