I apologize if this has been brought up before/already but HOLY God. This is Sarah. Debbie is Sarah. Sarah is Debbie.

As a 28-year-old who actually has seen Van Halen in concert (not a humble brag, I was just a petty, petty bitch in high school and my boyfriend at the time loved the band, and cheated on me, and so my mom — who is also a petty, petty bitch — bought the reunion 2007? 2008? tickets for me, drove a friend and me to Baltimore from DC for the concert, waited outside for us, bought us each concert tees, and said friend and I wore the concert tee to the class we shared with him; I have a great mom and that girl was a great friend), it makes me sad (for a second. Just a second!) that as someone who was born in 1990, I might have a better handle on many of the cultural references and forms she so wishes to return.

PS — I realize Sarah has never mentioned this song and likely does not listen to “hardcore” rock (lol) and was definitely never a groupie (lol AGAIN... ) so I’m totally reaching here with this post ... all I mean is that I think so many of us (even “younger” ones) have experienced SO much more of the “throwback” years than Sarah has... and yet she is the one spitting at the mouth to return to them. GIRL, ya didn’t live then — may as well enjoy the present and live now.
