I see where you're coming from, but I think reuniting cookies that are connected by real life distance or disconnected from each other from lack thereof more like a "chat group" made of a virtual reality. I think it fits more the VR concept due to the fact that the place the cookies are interacting with doesn't actually exist (as in every tree, leaf, pathway, house, car, piece of tech there is merely a fabrication) but if the enviroment was actually a real place with virtual elements added in it (like in Playtest) it could be considered Augmented Reality. It's kind of a muddy ground, though. The concepts are very similar.

Also I love the fact that nothing exists outside of the "coach ground" the simulations have to undergo the process in. It's a bit scary and makes the whole thing more magic imo
