I know it's not moronic monday, but am I the only one here who doesn't make over $50,000/year?

When I was 25 I was making $16 an hour working as a glorified helpdesk rep through and IT staffing firm as a contractor. I'm 35 now and make 145K plus a 20% bonus. Here's how that happened.

Once I had my temp job, I worked my butt off. I studied and got my MCSE certification and when my 3 month contract expired, I was hired on full time at something like 45K/year. By working hard, and doing more than I was asked, putting in extra hours, and asking for "The hardest problems before they get escalated" in about a year I caught the attention of the database applications manager who "stole" me from the PC support team (because nothing was getting escalated to them any more). I got a very nice bump up to something like 55K and could fix the leaky muffler in my POS car. That manager helped mentor me and I started to focus on databases and database administration. Through more hard work, some very good luck, and ( company acquisitions), any by earning the MCITP DBA certifications, I was promoted twice in the next 3 years and worked my way up to 85K. At this point, I was the best at doing DBA work in our team, but I was inexperienced and young. A couple of years later it became apparent, I really needed to change companies to make more money and advance further, and so I did. I exaggerated my "Current salary" when interviewing- and took at job at 105K as "Senior DBA". That job turned out to be horrible (bad corporate culture, bad boss) and so six months later I was afraid I made a huge mistake. So I started looking again and found an awesome job at 115K in another senior capacity where again I excelled through hard work. I get in earlier than the next guy and I stay later. I research everything and really enjoy learning and getting better at what I do. Again by impressing the right people and some lucky timing, I earned a promotion in just 2 year and an negotiated an unpresedented raise to 145K +20% bonus. Now, I'm considereing taking a job for less money, to telecomute full time while working from some tropical paradise. Also: 10% into the 401k, no exceptions. Future you will say "thanks, I'm rich!"

tldr; 25 is young. You can be making bank in 10 years if you work hard.
