Not in my neighbourhood, you said

I live in a suburban area that is considered “very safe” by the media, however, in under 3 years two people commit suicide at the local train-station a block from my house, about a year and a half ago a burglar walked right into my neighbors home and tried to steal shit while they were there having dinner, and a few months ago a man was shot and burnt to death inside of a car in a parkinglot about 5 minutes from my home, and those were just what I personally saw/heard from word of mouth, none of these things ever even made it to the local paper because this town was voted “best place to raise a kid” in 2016. Urban neighborhoods are simply more condensed than suburban areas, its not bad people=higher crime rates, its condensed population = the appearance of higher crime rates within the same radius, in addition to the fact the media turns a blind eye to suburban crime
