When our conversation happened(marked on the above image for your convenience), the market there looks like it's on a more-or-less slow but steady climb, with what looks like at the time to be a short dip that we were then recovering from.

Now, with the benefit of more information, we have learned that (gasp) needless tariffs and bullshit speculation have an adverse effect on the stock market! Surprise! This looks like, so far, typical Trump-era volatility. But I could be wrong with new information! We'll see!

But again, my points still fuckin' stand. Trump-era volatility isn't the same as a poorly performing stock market, but more importantly, how the stock market is doing isn't a direct correlation to how the economy is doing.
