"muslim ban" hoax that didn't ban Muslims at all and just banned certain countries from coming here while leaving many countries with Muslim majorities still able to travel here.

How is this a hoax? Trump's original plan and platform was for a complete and total ban on all Muslim's entering the country regardless of country, and including American Muslims that were presently overseas, by means of religious test:

Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski said Trump’s proposed ban would apply to “everybody”, including Muslims seeking immigration visas as well as tourists seeking to enter the country. Another Trump staffer confirmed that the ban would also apply to American Muslims who were currently overseas – presumably including members of the military and diplomatic service. “This does not apply to people living in the country,” Trump said in an interview on Fox News, “but we have to be vigilant.”

It was only after he was informed by staff and courts that it would be illegal to ban people based on religious affiliation, and after he lost several court battles, that he reluctantly ended up only banning travellers from seven "high risk" primarily Muslim countries. Calling it a hoax is pretty disingenuous because he absolutely tried to do a complete Muslim ban, got shot down and had to "settle" for the ban on certain primarily Muslim countries.

Of note: Saudi Arabia, arguably the most dangerous Muslim country to the U.S. (a country ruled by Shariah law, whose citizens were responsible for 15 of the 19 hijackers on 9/11, and is frequently associated with state-sponsored terrorism) was left off the list.

Weird, until you factor in Trump's vast business dealings in Saudi and close business ties with the Prince.
