I do not think we should take satisfaction in the death of criminals.

Laws don’t enforce themselves, you are correct. People are needed for this function. 100% agreed. What I’m saying is, laws should be enforced if they are worth having on the books. Otherwise, remove it.

It’s not a bullshit ticket if you broke the law. Like I said, there is no exception for running stop signs anywhere in the US that I am aware of. So whether you like it or not, it’s a law violated. You can add all the turns to a road that you want, those won’t help at intersections still or where a road currently exists. It takes money from people that took an intentional action and broke a law. They should be fined and punished. I don’t feel bad for people who have a consequence from a direct result of an intentional decision. I’d rather fine people for every traffic violation in a police state than pay sales tax or property taxes. At least we’d get rid of these behaviors and generate revenue off of people that choose to violate laws.

It’s not whether or not the danger exists at the time you break the law. If it’s 2pm and I run a stop sign, I still broke the law. It’s the general principle that a law is in effect and expected to be obeyed. I don’t get to drive with broken taillights as long as there isn’t a lot of traffic behind me, that’s just nonsensical.

Sure, it would be expensive but I think it would pay for itself monetarily fairly quickly. Look at how quickly parking enforcement pays for itself and that’s a very manual task still in most cities.

Complicated, how? Which part is complicated? Expensive, sure, but that’s not complicated.
