Not a single team with a 10+ game winning streak made it past the first round this season.

I find it interesting to view records in the NBA, NHL, & MLB without each team's longest winning & losing streaks of the season. For the playoffs:

Capitals 46-15-8 (72.5% points) 3-2 lead over Maple Leafs 35-25-12 (56.9%) +15.6%

Penguins 43-19-9 (66.9%) 4-1 over Blue Jackets 34-19-7 (62.5%) +4.4%

Rangers 42-25-6 (61.6%) 4-2 over Canadiens 39-23-8 (61.4%) +0.2%

Senators 38-25-9 (59.0%) 3-2 lead over Bruins 38-27-7 (57.6%) +1.4%

Predators 37-27-10 (56.8%) 4-0 over Blackhawks 43-21-7 (65.5%) -8.7%

Blues 40-24-7 (61.3%) 4-1 over Wild 37-20-8 (63.1%) -1.8%

Ducks 41-20-12 (64.4%) 4-0 over Flames 35-29-4 (54.4%) +10.0%

Oilers 42-21-9 (64.6%) 4-2 over Sharks 40-23-7 (62.1%) +2.5%

So the Wild may have been the 2nd best record in the west but they likely got the 3rd closest match-up.

Best non-playoff teams:

Lightning - 38-26-10 (58.1%)

Islanders - 35-25-11 (57.0%)

Hurricanes - 31-26-15 (53.5%)

Kings - 34-31-8 (52.1%)

Jets - 33-30-7 (52.1%)

Flyers - 29-29-9 (50.0%)

Panthers - 30-30-11 (50.0%)

Stars - 31-33-11 (48.7%)

Sabres - 30-33-10 (47.9%)

Red Wings - 27-32-12 (46.5%)

Coyotes - 27-34-9 (45.0%)

Devils - 23-32-12 (43.3%)

Canucks - 24-35-8 (41.8%)

Avalanche - 20-48-3 (30.3%)

For /u/Thats_Debatable, all three 10 win streak teams that made they playoffs have better points percentages than the non-playoff teams once everyone's best & worst streaks are removed.
