Why I do not support Gun Control

It’s not purely about keeping them in check, it is the ability for me and others to defend theirselves during a crisis.

You haven't yet even mentioned what this crises is where you're going to shoot government officials and come out on top, without also being opposed by millions of your fellow countrymen. Because that situation doesn't exist.

No one should go “looking for fights”. Furthermore the US government would be put into a lose lose situation in such a scenario, if they killed millions they would be condemned by the world, people would pull out of US Markets, causing market crashes causing even more riots.

The beauty of writing your own dystopia is you can mold it to whetted you, the protagonist, always come out on top and thumbs fall right into place. But history tells us the Government has experimented on its own people, enslaved them, killed them, and unlawfully detained them with little or no reprecussions internationally. They still do.

It took a military genius and master tactician to put it down.

Not really. The rebels were gighly outnumbered and Washington didn't exactly summon the entire Continental Army.

John Brown used his right to bear arms to liberate slaves)

And he and the escaped slaves were found and hanged after being hunted by local militia and lawmen. This proves my point.

Nat Turner used the 2nd Amendment to cause rebellions

Yes, the slave rebellions that failed and got most of the people involved painfully killed.

Look at Vietnam,

Funny, they don't have a second amendment. Also funny, most of their armaments came from a foreign power.

look at the American Revolution.

The same revolution where France supplied 50% of the gunpowder to the Colonists and much of the training and other equipment? The same Revolution where Britain was entangled with two other super powers? Yeah, the Revolution wasn't won by Pa's rifle on the mantle.

These are weak and tiny nations taking on global superpowers and winning. Especially with Vietnam as that is closer to Modern Day.

Can't compare a foreign nation with unfamiliar terrain and culture across a vast Ocean, battle hardened from decades of conflict and week supplied by a foreign power with military grade equipment, to your suburban home with your rifle in the backyard of the Military you want to overthrow.

And let's remember, over a million Vietnamese were killed, and the war ended due to public outrage, not because Vietnam was militarily superior.

Why did the government and rich agree to compromise? It was because they feared the alternative.

Conspiracy theories aside, the Government is in fact beholden to its constituency. If public outcry shifts hard enough one way, politicians buckle beats they went to keep their position, not because they're afraid of some yahoos shooting up the Capital.

An attempt at peace is the last effort until war is unavoidable.

Way to over dramaticize and conjecture in place of factual evidence.

The Alternative is this

A battle where the numbers lost the most people pitted against some local lawmen and mercenaries; not the US Military. Once again, trying to connect different dots to prove a different point.

Because people are not allowed to easily carry them. Gun Free Zones limit where and when you can use your right to carry.

Oh shut the fuck up. Maybe that excuse would have flew back at Sandy Hook, but we have had countless mass shootings in "open/CCW carry places" and they have still utterly failed to contain them. Seriously, even the NRA dropped that talking point.

Banning it doesn’t protect anyone either. Criminals don’t care about the law.

And yet in states with more gun laws they have had been less gun violence. Most of the guns used in these mass shootings were obtained legally.

Because it would require a head or neck shot to be effective. In a panic your accuracy suffers.

From the manufacturer:

"A Salt round travels at 320 feet per second (fps), which has the same kinetic energy as being hit by a 50mph fastball."

That's not even counting the pepper spray effect or the use of rubber bullets which have even more energy. Stop making up shit on the fly; if you got hit with 7 50 MPH fast balls that sprayed you with powdered tear gas, you would be incapacitated.

Of course, because those weapons are impractical and risks unneeded harm to innocent civilians.

Just like large magazines full of bullets that can turn human organs to pulp are impractical for every day use and create unneeded harm to innocent civilians. People hunted just fine with long guns with a few rounds at their disposal for centuries.

We don’t blame or get mad at cops when a bullet bounces off the ground into someones leg

Uh yes, actually we do. People have won lawsuits successfully from those.
