Why do we not talk about LGBT in the MRA?

i agreed with everything you said, but especially that last paragraph. the only reason feminism has co-opted all the other isms is because it doesn't have enough oppression points anymore. they lose the moral high ground if they don't preface everything with "i support LGBTQ+ rights, minorities' rights, disability rights, etc. etc. etc. ad nauseam."

men's rights is about men's rights. it's about solving the problems that men face. that helps gay men as well, but it doesn't specifically help gay men. it helps men. since gay men are men, the movement is for them. but it's not for gay men specifically because they are gay. there is no line between straight men and gay men as far as the MRM is concerned. we're not fighting for straight men's rights and gay men's rights. we're fighting for men's rights. gay men are just as much men as straight men are, thus there does not even need to be a distinction. there is no distinction. they are men, and thus the MRM is already advocating for their human rights.

same can be said for literally any type of men. there is no distinction. we don't specifically deal with various types of men, because there is no distinction. the rights we are advocating for will be common to all men. that is what ties us together. it doesn't matter what your race, sexuality, or religion is. it doesn't even matter if you are transgender. the mere fact that you identify as a man forces you to forfeit rights that you should not have to. so that is what we're working on. none of us care what your sexuality or race is. if you face problems directly as a result of your sexuality or race, it's a good thing that there are (much larger, more powerful) movements already working on that. we are working on issues that are common to all men. you don't ask black civil rights protesters why they're not advocating for socialized abortions, do you? this movement does not, and should not, co-opt every little movement it can. that's what feminism does, and it's a point of criticism and ridicule for feminists, in my eyes.
