‘Not Today, Motherf***er’: Runner Takes Down Attacker

"43% of women experience some form of harassment while jogging."

What does that statistic even mean?

I mean it says "experience" not "experienced."

That implies that nearly half of all women are harassed every time they go out jogging.

I find that hard to believe.

Maybe the actual study shows that 43% of women were harassed at least once while jogging, but again that's definitely not what the statement implies.

It also depends on the definition of "harassment."

If a guy smoking a cigarette on a corner yells, "Nice ass" to a woman jogging by, I consider that inappropriate, but not harassment.

I'm a guy, I don't jog, but I cycle. Once or twice I've been out in cycling gear and had a car full of teens scream, "Fag" as they drove by. But they kept going. That's inappropriate. Not harassment. Had they slowed down, continued to insult me, followed me, got out of their car, etc....then it would be harassment.

I mean honestly, I think 95%+ of adults, male or female, have had something inappropriate said to them at some point in their life, while doing any random thing.

If I were to consider every single rude comment made to me as a straight, white, adult male to be harassment, then I'd say I was "harassed" at least once per week on average.
