God I just hate people talking about the founding fathers opinions like it should effect modern America. Everyone just picks and chooses what the founding fathers believed to support their point, ignoring that 240+ years have past and lots of shit has changed. If they had a good idea then argue that idea, don't just act like its right because some old white slaveholders from 240 years ago believed it.

Even if some of their shit supports my points I don't use that shit. I love guns, I think we should keep them and one of the reasons is to protect ourselves from a tyrannical governments. I think that's a good enough reason without saying "oh the founding fathers thought..."
