Now the U.S. Air Force Wants You to Believe the A-10 Is Too Old to Fight

This response is a little bit late, but I feel zdaytonaroadster's response is not an ideal argument for several reasons and only serves to get thepitchforks raised.

  1. Dear god. Most of his argument is based off of emotional appeal. Raging against the military-industrial complex might get most of reddit off, but it does not necessarily any of your arguments valid.

  2. You did not source anything you said.

Hell they GAVE up some of their border land with the Russians long ago when they (the Chinese) were far more powerful than the Russians at that point.

What the hell is this. Long ago could be 500 AD (probably hyperbole), this does not mean anything unless you make a specific reference and actually back it up.

MajGenWilliams at least has some credibility in that he was an air force general and probably knows about the inner workings of the air force. On the other hand, zdaytonaroadster could anyone from the U.N. general secretary to some neckbeard sitting in his basement. We do not know who you are, and you do not have any evidence to back up that you. Anyone who reads this is basically trusting that you know what you are talking about.

Learned that from a Military Historian

By not sourcing anything and not having any credibility of their own, zdaytonaroadster's argument is more or less just a rant.

  1. Speaking of war with the russians, it was a legitimate threat at several points as one side or the other had their fingers on the button. http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2012/oct/27/vasili-arkhipov-stopped-nuclear-war Look everybody! An actual source! According to this, fear of ww3 was a little bit more than just an existential threat, as opposed to a reality.

  2. Its not in [China's] nature to be this world-expanding power.

Apparently the senkaku islands dispute was not a sign of a growing power starting to flex its muscles if we follow zdaytonaroadster's narrative. This dispute is one of several examples of the chinese trying to exhibit more influence over the pacific and the south china sea.

i'm sorry if i am actually talking out of my ass here, but i feel like this needed to be said

**tl;dr zdaytonaroadster has not validated any of their own credibility and neglected to source any of their arguments. it is mostly based upon emotional appeal and the assumption that zdaytonaroadster knows what they are talking about
