[NPDx2] In this moment, I am euphoric. Not because of any phony Knob's blessing. But because I am enlightened by own lo-fi ambiance.

I got the Arp-87 about a week back and absolutely vibed with it. That was my first experience with a Walrus pedal, before this I mainly knew Walrus for their Julia memes and overpriced alternate art pedals. Those two things kinda turned me off of wanting one, but the sound of this delay (especially the secret mode) overrode and negative preconceptions I had about the brand.

The next part of my rig that needed upgrading was my multi-reverb, so I looked into Walrus first after my last positive experience with em. I already have an Astral Destiny, so I was looking for something for more conventional reverb sounds, and something that would work well with my synthesizer set-up. I was initally leaning towards an Oceans 12, but I heard from others it doesn't take full advantage of stereo capabilities. After listening to a stereo demo of the R1 with some good quality headphones, I knew I had to have it. The stereo width is absolutely huge and it works with synthesizers even better than guitar imo. So far my favorite algorithm is the plate one, it's the only plate reverb I've tried that is indistinguishable from the real thing. I'm sure there's other high quality plate sims out there, but this is definitely the best of what I've tried.
