IS: learn networking, PC hardware troubleshooting, etc. May possibly come in fairly useful in civilian life.

IC1: trunk signalling (i.e. brigade level and above)—learn to use the large satellite dishes mounted on tonners, etc.

IC2: short-range signalling (battalion-level and below)—learn to set up vehicular and man-portable radios. You'll also learn a smidgen of IS, like networking basics, etc. The newest radios require the latter knowledge because the SAF is moving from a purely radio battlefield to a battlefield Internet, with packet-switched networks, attached computers (called the Battlefield Management System, or BMS) and radios becoming more like nodes and switches.
