This just reminds me of last year when I went to Paris with my boyfriend. We arrived late at night and couldn’t figure out the subway or bus system because we don’t speak French so we walked like ten miles (with our suitcases) from the train station to our hotel at like 11pm.

The hotel was on the other side of the Quarter Pigalle which is entirely made up of strip clubs, dildo shops, and lingerie stores continuing on for what seems like miles. Every single sign has a naked woman on it and there are bars everywhere full of people blowing cigarette smoke towards the sidewalk.

That was my very first glimpse of Paris and I was like “why do people love this city so much?? Paris sucks!!”

The next day I learned that I was just cranky and Paris is actually a beautiful city but that was certainly not a great first impression.
