Nuns claim they were forced to brand themselves with fire, eat out-of-date food and write orders of obedience in their own blood in Mafia-style initiations at Italian convent

Hahahaha God damn, man, you need to get out from behind your computer more and experience some real world. This isn't 1200 A.D. anymore, brother. For example, I live in Chicago, an extremely Catholic city. The fact that you think the Church "oppresses" us could be the funniest thing I've heard in a little while and I'm really not even sure what you mean by "oppressed" because the Church doesn't get involved in anybody's lives unless somebody asks them to. Priests and nuns also don't go around burning gay people's houses down. Guilt trips for pursuing happiness? Where did you pull that one from? I've never even heard that since all the best schools by far in Chicago are Catholic schools and absolutely shit on the public schools with no religion in terms of producing the most college graduates.

I know you're probably very bitter about something in your life which causes your pessimistic view of the world and I'm sure joining whatever internet hate circle-jerk you can find makes you feel a little better but please stop saying dumb shit. A priest who spends his days in soup kitchens, helping recovering drug addicts, giving canned food to less fortunate families, educating our youth, collecting money for charity, and generally living a moral life (amongst countless other things) does 10x more good in the world than you do.

I can probably produce a very long list of all the bad things you partake in that causes much more pain and suffering than a priest/nun ever will. How much clothes do you own that was produced in sweatshops? How much pure consumerism do you participate in that creates massive income equality? How many hours did you spend last week volunteering your time to the less fortunate? How much pollution do you create driving around in your car?

Unless you're out there working with the Peace Corps, just sit down and shut up.
