Nurse with DUI

Hire a lawyer ASAP and do not make a statement to the board until speaking with one. I'm not in your state but had a history of DUI before school and had issues getting my ATT after graduation. There is a time limit to report to the board so call an experienced licensing attorney as soon as you can. I read your other post and it will probably look worse than a typical dui because kids were in the car as well... It was tough fighting for my license but I have it without restrictions because I did what the lawyer told me 100%. Every situation is different so the lawyer will give you the best advice. My best advice is to remember the BON is in place to protect patients and not nurses so take that into account, they will scrutinize everything they can.
