This just reminded me of a time when I had a pt who weighed 550 who was in a wheelchair and needed to be transported. During that time I was recovering from covid and I was still very weak, would get out of breath easily. I decided to try to transport her even though my PCP specifically instructed to take breaks as needed every 4 hours, and to not to do any heavy lifting. I knew my limitations so I would transport her as best as I could, I would take my time and try to pace myself so I don’t completely become winded, and she said I was terrible at transporting and that she wanted someone else to transport her.
