[Nutrients] Vitamin C requirement, carb intake and anti-scorbutics

But maybe it can be activated again. Imagine how gracefully everyone would age, eh

Not sure. The more collagen synthesis, the more cell turnover as opposed to "cell longevity", and the info-sources for such renewals (stem cells? genes? telomeres? well something based on or in cells, themselves) wear off and deteriorate anyway and all by themselves, the pace and intensity of this seems to be a much more major determinant in "gracefulness" of the aging process, rather than just increased collagen synthesis for constant skin renewal? If much higher levels of intake or synthesis of Vit C would even drive this automatically, unchecked so to speak, which I reckon a doubtful.

Oh hey, a thread full of guesswork in /r/ketoscience anyway so why not. ;)

I'm not even sure why carnivores synthesize the C, won't they eat all the antiscorbutic molecules and collagen they could ever need? Likewise herbivores must surely ingest all the C they could ever need, given the volumes of fresh unprocessed unheated plant matter they need to ingest to extract full nourishment. The perfect species needing Vit C synthesis, other than plants themselves, then seem to be pudding/tofu veg(etari)ans!

We might soon find out what happens when you re-activate the now-deactivated final C synthesis step with CRISPR/Cas, C2c2, and such upcoming tech.
