NXT is fantastic and probably puts on a fantastic wrestling show every week. Here's why I don't watch it...

When I'm watching wrestling, I try to keep my enjoyment of the show from whatever my hopes are for the superstars.

If I'm watching a Velveteen Dream match, I'm enjoying the performance in the present and not worrying about what his future holds. And it's a great viewing experience because I'm invested in the performance itself rather than external factors beyond it. I can also go back and watch an Andrade or Aleister Black NXT match without begrudgingly thinking about how they're doing now. I'm able to enjoy those past characters for what they were in those moments. For me I just think it's important to be present while watching wrestling, because it's far less enjoyable when you're caught up in stuff that's beyond what you're watching.
