NYC.gov is not accessible by visually impaired residents. How do we fix this?

As I run a few sites myself, I'm well aware of the issue and how much of a pain in the ass it is for impaired users, and site admins to fix. Because this is a government site, bureaucracy is the name of the game.

Despite the city's plan, it could take over a year until they're up to code. If you're interested in getting a payoff, you probably can with a good lawyer.

For private companies, it's a lot simpler. You either hire a team of developers, or use an all in one plugin like Accessibe (what I'm using since I can't afford NY developers.

It's great that there's now a movement to bring sites up to code, it's a shame that it's only happening due to the threat of suit. I wish your wife the best.
