NZ Attorny General: "New Zealand to ban semi-automatic weapons"

It unites NZ because it's not banning anything NZers care about. NZ conservatives don't give a fuck if guns are banned or not.

American conservatives on the other hand would probably start a civil war if there ever was a gun ban. It's so important to them that in many cases it's literally the only issue that sways their vote.

I for one wouldn't want a civil war. I'd much rather it be left to the states, so there would be a total ban on guns in places like California, while people who live in Texas get to own guns.

Short of this, a civil war would definitely happen. I don't think American gun owners will begin shooting their own people, even liberals. I think it'll start with just civil disobedience, people would own guns in secret like during prohibition. 3D printed guns will become popular.

It'd be impossible to enforce with tens of millions of gun owners and guns already in circulation. You're not gonna jail tens of millions of people who would otherwise be productive members of society.
