Quick rant, because I think this is satire.

So this Blood Moon thing has passed, and we are all still here. It was obviously another false prophecy.

And while drinking beer, and watching the lunar eclipse, I had a bit of an epiphone tonight.

So, if you are trying to discredit science, what do you do? You discredit scientists, of course. Not by singling any of them out (although you might do this), but rather by suggesting that they are simply a group of people in a position of authority. They are simply a bunch of smart people, doing smart things.

This accounts for all of innovation. Smart people, with big labs create all of the smart things that we have. Everything from computers, to cell phones, to free energy and anti gravity devices- all created by very smart people, working in labs- possibly with the help of aliens or God, or gods.

But there are a few people who are willing to blow the lid off this entire thing. And they know that science is not a process, but rather a series of edicts from a position of authority. They are on exactly the same plain as scientists, because they are speaking from authority- just like scientists.

If you establish that you are the same plain of authority that scientists are, you can equally establish that anyone who believes what you say are following exactly the same authority that people who believe in science are.

Of course, this is a fallacy, because science is a process, rather than dogma. But the trick is to convince people that "scientists" rather than science, is the source of authority. Then you can say that you have the truth that they are trying to conceal. You become the authority.
