You're so right. Every few months I (26F) Tinder for a few days to see what's out there and go on a few dates with some random matches, and I'm VERY selective on my swiping. If you have a bio at all and some pictures that show YOU (and not topless/holding a beer, but a pic of a genuine smile or some fun activity you enjoy), I'll almost always swipe right unless our fields of interest (hobbies/work/study) don't align on any level or have an extra arm growing out of your forehead. I don't even care what the guys look like because putting in the effort of having a bio and some well chosen pics shows you're at least trying.
As a girl who much prefers the nerdy/smart type over the topless partying pretty boys, Tinder isn't much fun for me simply because I waste 90% my time filtering through the meta profiles of having 1 topless pic, 1 drinking, 1 far away 3 year old vacation pic in scenic area and no bio whatsoever. Despite getting plenty of matches and dates, Tinder is too exhausting for me to use because of that. It's not fun anymore after a while, despite 'working' for me. I wish it would actually try to find your type based on your swipes rather than that strange ELO system they've got going on where they just throw everything at the wall and see what sticks.
I guess my point being that it's not much fun for girls either (especially if you're looking for something other than a one night stand), despite getting easier matches compared to guys, simply because the profile meta seems to be put in 0 effort and see what comes your way.
tl;dr have a nice bio and some genuine pics to reel in me at least
