[OC] How serious do US states think global warming is?

Lol there's never much data from my home state in spreads like this.

Lemme tell you Wyoming doesn't seem to give a single fuck. This state has built its wealth entirely on oil, gas, and minerals. That's the hill they're going to die on.

Some of our counties are is such dire financial crunches that were cutting education left and right and EMS services are wondering if they're even going to be able to operate a couple months in the future. This is all because of the dip on coal, oil, and gas. We desperately need to diversify and enacting a state tax would help our municipalities but you will never win an election here if you support either of those ideas. Almost every populated area in Wyoming is there because of gas and mineral industries. People think that a more diverse market will mean ending jobs in the industries they've worked in for generations so they are vehemently against it. Coal has been slowly shutting down in my side of the state and the possibility of a nuclear reactor is being considered being built. Everyone I talk to seems to hate the idea because they feel like it's betraying the coal miners here. They fail to see the opportunity for our state.

Wyoming will ride coal and gas until they absolutely cannot anymore and then act completely surprised why it's no longer working for our state.
