October 22, 2015 Anything Goes/Pregame Thread

i guess ill post it here... BUT... i was born into being a yankee fan... everybody except me and my brother are from the bronx. i was 9 in 1996 when the yankees got their first ring during my lifetime. we moved away to a NL team'd city in '93, and as a little NY boy, i went to the mets games when they were in town since the yankees never came. then i got a little older, and i loved baseball. i liked the mets about 50/50 when the subway series came around. then things started to click. i was on board for the yankees in 2000, until the clemans/piazza thing. then i was on board for the mets the rest of that year. i remember being more upset about the mets losing, than happy that the yankees won. and around that time, i was so into baseball, and i loved the game, and i was old enough to know that most of the yankees game isnt played on the field.

But nobody told me to pick the mets, to make them my team. I picked them, and i have stuck with them. i dont remember what year it was when i finally first said 'fuck the yankees', but i have been 100% mets for a while. i remember one of the 2006 nlcs games, we were winning, and the gf was being annoying with texts, and i was happy we had a shot to get to the WS, so i told her we are done. i enjoyed the rest of that night.

Case in point, i love baseball, and win or lose this series, this is my team, and will be. all the times i checked the scores every inning, for every game, for the past decade+ has been 100% worth it. this is what being successful should feel like, this is why i got on board. it was to feel better winning, instead of being mad when we lose, expected to win every year.

LETS GO METS
