Thanks to the gentleman that tried to get me written up becuase i simply said "Whats up?". When the customer approached me i was looking for a product for a customer i was already helping. He approached me and said "Excuse me" I then replied to him and said "Yes, what's up. how can i help you?" He then stopped and stared at me, then asked me to point to him where the ipad covers were. I pointed to where they were located and saw my co-worker free and asked if he could assist the customer. My co-worker than preceeded to help the customer, but the customer immediately asked to speak to a manager. My co-worker asked the customer if there was anything he could help with. The customer said he felt disrespected because i said "what's up " to him becuase he was black. Some people take things way too serious. Yes I understand saying "whats up" isn't professional to say, however i did also say "how can i help you?". I also said it in what I thought was a very polite manner to the gentlemen. What do you guys think is this?
