Offensive tip amounts

A few weeks back, it was a Friday night right at 9pm. I had surpassed my weekly goal for what I look to make and heading home from my final delivery. Shipt HQ literally glitches out and re-offered me an order I had declined at Target but with a $20 promo pay and moved it ahead to the 9-10pm window (this seemed like an obvious mistake so I called HQ and they explained they manually set and reset promos so the order had been moved back an hour since it went unclaimed but I grabbed it in the slight moments before promo was taken off - a gift from the Shipt gods!)

The whole reason I declined the order in the first place is because the member always makes me leave their bags by their garage, never shows their face and NEVER rips. I shopped at least 5 of their orders before I finally quit accepting their orders. They live in a ridiculously nice neighborhood and their house is easily worth $500,000 so that only adds a cherry on top.

But if you’re giving me an extra $20 on top of a $10 payout to stop by the store to pick up a few items and head the same direction I’m going anyway to call it a week? Count me in. I quickly grab the items, deliver at 9:20p and go home. No more than 30 minutes later I open the app to find a miracle - that member DID, IN FACT, TIP!!! That tip? $1. I told myself I wouldn’t get upset or expect a tip and the promo was the whole reason I took the order at all. But something about the audacity to leave just $1 left me incensed.
