Officer enters wrong house

I had this happen to me in the late 90’s.(19F) It was 6 am and my ex left the house to go to work. I get a knock on the door and I thought my ex forgot his keys but instead of him it was the FBI and some other kind of law enforcement with them. They asked if the previous tenant lived there and I said no he moved. It was a our friend’s brother who moved 5 years before. He was not a roommate he just rented the house. I never even met the guy. They said they had a warrant ( but didn’t show me) and they were coming in anyway.

We had just had a party the night before and there was about an oz of pot in my ex bf’s drawer. I was so scared because pot was extremely illegal back than. I asked if I could put my pit bull in my bedroom and they agreed. They searched everywhere except my bedroom. They even searched my basement and my backyard looking for this guy.

Of course they didn’t find him and none of them apologized for being so intrusive, aggressive and rude. I was very scared and didn’t know that their search was illegal and they had no right to do that to me.
