Officer saves man from oncoming train without a second to spare

Some extra info regarding power wheelchairs:

  • A lot of the power chairs weigh A LOT. I mean a couple hundred pounds sometimes. Some have TWO batteries in them the same size as your car's battery.

  • There are usually switches in the back by the rear castor wheels with arrows. One direction says PUSH the other says DRIVE. If these chairs are in DRIVE (meaning normal operation by the occupant, and there's no reason this guy's wouldn't be unless some asshole came along and de-clutched him) then you WILL NOT be pushing that chair anywhere.

  • Taking into account the weight of the chair, the fact that it wouldn't have budged without being de-clutched first, and the fact that one or a few of his wheels looks to be stuck in the groove on the tracks.... then this officer did as well as anyone could have hoped.

All of that said, with the time she had available, virtually all anyone could have done is yank the guy out of that chair.
