Officers of Reddit, when has an excusable action turned into a moment of "well...now I gotta arrest you"?

On your second example, I actually got off with a warning for doing 15 over in a 70mph traveling out of state for my brothers wedding somehow by a state trooper of all people. He asked for my paperwork and I gave him my liscense but said I had a loaded, holstered pistol in the glove box the paperwork was in, and asked how he would like for me to proceed.

I did the same as you like i always do. Car off and keys on the dash, all windows down. Just saw me, the gf, our dog wagging her tail at him and our suitcases. He ran my liscense, came back and asked where u was going. Told him to my parents house in [other city] and pointed to the GPS.

He told me to slow it down, asked to pet the dog who was begging for some lovins and sent us on our way.

Call me a bootlicker, but they're just doing their job. Their line of work has them dealing with shitheads all the time. Why make it harder on everyone involved? Anyone who worked retail can say the pleasant interactions can make up for the rough ones.
