Official Discussion - Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness [SPOILERS]

EEAAO was a great example of executing a sci-fi/fantasy concept well. It took one basic creative concept about the multiverse, explained it with just a little bit of exposition, and then simply extrapolated it out. So even when it went to absurdly ridiculous extremes - even sausage fingers - the audience could follow along with it because it was all grounded in a core concept (with just a couple extra concepts added for flavor).

As opposed to DSMOM, where they kept adding more and more concepts and complications to their multiverse idea until it was just a jumbled mess. "Oh there's a multiverse and also this one character can traverse them and also there's dream walking and also it only works if they're alive and also but not always and also this magic book controls it all and so on and so on". It got so bogged down with these rules that it hardly had any time to be creative with them, whereas with EEAAO they had the freedom to explore their creativity in just about every other shot.
